    The Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta and Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Brig General Paul Boroh (Rtd) have said that the Programme is making immense contributions to human capital development in the region. Speaking on receiving the official report of the graduation of fifty one beneficiaries of the Presidential Amnesty Programme from the Novena University, General Boroh commended the exemplary conduct of the students whom he said were exemplary ambassadors of the Amnesty programme.

    He was also full of praise for the Federal Government whom he said funded the entire programme adding that this was one more proof of the commitment of the Buhari administration to the full reintegration of Amnesty beneficiaries into society.

  • Boroh Flags Off Distribution of Starter Packs

    The Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Brig. Gen. Paul Boroh has called on state governments in the Niger Delta and relevant public institutions to encourage the growth of small and medium enterprises as a way to boost the local and national economy. Brig. General Boroh made the call at a ceremony in Warri, Delta State to officially flag-off the distribution of starter packs to delegates trained as entrepreneurs under the Presidential Amnesty Programme.

  • Boroh points at agriculture as the future

    The Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta and Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Brig-Gen. Paul Boroh (Rtd) has described agriculture as the future and mainstays of Nigeria’s economy, pointing out that it has the potential of transforming the nation’s economy and diversify it from oil and gas.
    Speaking at the graduation ceremony of 72 ex-agitators in Aquaculture and Fishery at the Institute of Oceanography, University of Calabar, he said that the Amnesty Office would continue to collaborate with credible institutions and agencies to build the capacity of the ex-agitators as a way of empowering them to develop skills that would enable them reintegrate back to their communities and live normal life. He told the beneficiaries:
    Agriculture is the focus of President Muhammandu Buhari. The skills that you have learnt are very useful to the national economy. I want to see you go back to your communities to organize your fish ponds because agriculture is more of a practical thing than theory.

    Chief Timi Alaibi the pioneer Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme paid a solidarity visit to Brig. Gen. PT Boroh (Rtd), the Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta/Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme. The memorable visit to General Paul Tarela Boroh (Rtd) was strategically designed to a more sustainable developmental plan to ensure the Federal Government Commitment to the much needed Peace, Stability and Development of the Niger Delta Region. There is assurance of stability to allow for economic growth and sustainable human and infrastructural development across the Niger Delta. Such solitary collaborative visits strengthen the synergy of effort to achieve trust and confidence within and between stakeholders of the Niger Delta and beyond.

  • Israel offers assistance to reintegrate Niger Delta Amnesty beneficiaries.

    Israel has offered to assist in the integration of the Niger Delta Amnesty beneficiaries. The Israeli Ambassador in Nigeria, Mr. Uriel Palti stated this in Abuja during a courtesy call on the Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta and Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Brig Gen. Paul Boroh (Rtd).

    The ambassador told General Boroh “Israel will like to partner with you especially in two areas; in agriculture, using agriculture as a mechanism in conflict resolution in the Niger Delta (and) vocational training for Youths who require training.”
    Israel he said, will like to explore the possibility of carrying out some joint projects with the Presidential Amnesty Office.

  • National Biotechnology Development Agency to train thousands of Amnesty ex-Agitators

    The National Biotechnology Development Agency (NABDA) has agreed to train thousands of ex-Agitators under the Presidential Amnesty Programme. The NABDA Coordinatng Director, Mr. Josiah Bitrus Habu made this known at the agency’s headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday while receiving the Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta and Coordinator of the Amnesty Programme, Brigadier General Paul Boroh (Rtd)

    Today, May 16, the Issac Boro Day is a well-deserved commemorative date for the late Major Issac Jasper Adaka Boro, the legend of Niger Delta struggle. He was unique; when it was time for agitation, he agitated, when it was the season for protests, he led it, and when he thought the times called for armed struggle, he established the Ijaw Volunteer Force to prosecute it.

    For the avoidance of any doubt, the Programme states that: It has paid, and pays in full, the monthly stipend of the Beneficiaries under the Programme through the banks. If there is any case of under payment or deduction, this should be brought to the notice of the Programme for investigation.

    Making a review of the visit and its outcome, the Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta, Brigadier General Paul Boroh (Rtd) said the recognition of the environmental challenges of the Niger Delta by the President Muhammadu Buhari Government, its offer to treat the area as a Special Economic Zone and its template for peace, are offers the Region must grab with both hands.
