  • 22 Amnesty students graduate First and Upper Classes in UK

    Twenty two of the 144 students under the Presidential Amnesty Programme who graduated from United Kingdom (UK) universities this session had First Class and Second Class Upper degrees. Three of them had First Class degrees from Liverpool and Bedfordshire universities.

  • 40 Amnesty delegates graduate with First Class and Second Class Upper Division from Benson Idahosa University

    Forty delegates under the Presidential Amnesty Programme graduated in First Class and Second Class Upper Division from the Benson Idahosa University, Benin. The results issued by the university on Monday, showed that six of the Amnesty delegates had First Class; one in Mathematics, two in Business Administration, three in Political Science and Public Administration.

  • 50 Amnesty beneficiaries graduate from CDA Technical Institute ST. Kitts and Nevis

    50 Amnesty beneficiaries graduate from CDA Technical Institute ST. Kitts and Nevis arrived after a successful completion of their under-water diving and under water welding course were hosted at Lapour hotel by officials from the office in Abuja.
    The beneficiaries gave gratitude to the Federal Republic of Nigeria (President Muhammadu Buhari), for taking care of them offshore under the Presidential Amnesty Programme suppling them the necessary needs.
    They concluded that, they will use their skills to Support the society positively.

  • A meeting for further partnership of training on Agriculture for the ex-agitators

    Atsuko Toda Country Programme West and Central Africa Division Management Departmentt (IFAD) and

    Ambakederemo Eniye Senior Technical Adviser to Hon. Minister of State, Federal Ministry of Agric. And Rural Development

    paid an official visit to Brig-Gen. Paul T. Boroh (Rtd), The Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta and Chairman/Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme on Friday August 12, 2016.

    “Agriculture is a way out, it will sustain the region, and the beneficiaries will acquire skills, then beneficiaries will be independent and also create job opportunity for others or the less privileged once. We should start doing, instead of promising or saying i will do.” Boroh.

    Amnesty Office moves to acquire 100,000 hectares for agric, partners with states…begins phased graduation of 500 Ex-agitators in advanced farming.
    The Presidential Amnesty Programme has commenced steps to acquire 100,000 hectares of land in the nine oil producing states for advanced agriculture. The acquisition is a major step in the Programmme’s Integration Phase under which all beneficiaries of the Programme will be trained and empowered as part of its Strategic Exit Programme (STEP)

    The Presidential Amnesty Programme is saddened by the circle of violence cracking up Rivers State. This has become more pronounced as the re-run elections in the state take place. Such violence portends danger to the electoral and governance system in the country. It also gravely undermines the peace building efforts by the Federal Government in the region.

    The Amnesty Office appeals to politicians to keep the peace and leave out the beneficiaries of the Amnesty Programme if they plan to foment crisis in the state.

    Amnesty signs MOU to train 500 ex-Agitators in advanced Agric
    The Presidential Amnesty Programme on Monday signed a Memorandum Of Understanding with the National Biotechnology Development Centre (NABDA) to train 500 ex-Agitators in advanced farming methods. The training will commence in November.

  • Boroh Flags Off Distribution of Starter Packs

    The Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Brig. Gen. Paul Boroh has called on state governments in the Niger Delta and relevant public institutions to encourage the growth of small and medium enterprises as a way to boost the local and national economy. Brig. General Boroh made the call at a ceremony in Warri, Delta State to officially flag-off the distribution of starter packs to delegates trained as entrepreneurs under the Presidential Amnesty Programme.

  • Boroh points at agriculture as the future

    The Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta and Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Brig-Gen. Paul Boroh (Rtd) has described agriculture as the future and mainstays of Nigeria’s economy, pointing out that it has the potential of transforming the nation’s economy and diversify it from oil and gas.
    Speaking at the graduation ceremony of 72 ex-agitators in Aquaculture and Fishery at the Institute of Oceanography, University of Calabar, he said that the Amnesty Office would continue to collaborate with credible institutions and agencies to build the capacity of the ex-agitators as a way of empowering them to develop skills that would enable them reintegrate back to their communities and live normal life. He told the beneficiaries:
    Agriculture is the focus of President Muhammandu Buhari. The skills that you have learnt are very useful to the national economy. I want to see you go back to your communities to organize your fish ponds because agriculture is more of a practical thing than theory.

  • Innoson Train 200 Amnesty Beneficiaries in Automobile Technology and Plastic Manufacturing

      

    The Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta and Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Brig. Gen. Paul Boroh (Rtd) has expressed confidence in the ability of Nigerian youths to proffer solutions to the socio-political and economic challenges confronting the nation. He stated this at the commissioning of the Skills Acquisition Training for 200 beneficiaries of the Amnesty Programme in automobile technology and plastic manufacturing.

    Nine (9) delegates of the Presidential Amnesty Programme graduated on the 16th of November, 2016 as Maritime/Seamanship officers after 11 months training under First Adasa Group Limited.
    All Nine (9) delegates have also been engaged by First Adasa Group Limited.
